February Ice & Snow

So much snow! So many snowflakes! Not one of them like any other. Together, they have taken over the entire landscape, and incapacitated several cities the Eastern U.S.,including Washington D.C. It is easy to forget that snow and ice is water in a different form. If it had been just a little bit warmer, this ice and snow would have been rain. A few degrees makes the difference.

If everything is a reflection of everything else, what metaphor does this experience hold? I will have lots of time to ponder on that question as I wait for it to stop snowing so I can go out and try to dig my way out.

Although I have been unable to leave my house for several days, I am grateful for the warmth of my home, that I have enough food to eat and for this gift of time to be still, and enjoy the beauty around me.
