June 2011 Mandala Healing Workshop Series in Nairobi.

This is a slide show of the workshop I facilitated at the Faraja Cancer Support Center in Nairobi, in June 2011. It was open free of charge to cancer patients, survivors, family members, caregivers, staff and volunteers. A total of 14 participants.

There were 4 sessions, and each one had a different theme:
Session 1. Expressing Inner Light
Session 2. Healing the Heart & Forgiveness
session 3. Gratitude, Letting Go & Gifting
Session 4. Collective Sand Mandala.

Participants described their experience of the workshop as follows:

"Mandala helped me find myself, and a spiritual space to jump start my holistic healing process. It was a joy to be in this group at Faraja."

"Before I started this class, my life felt heavy and blocked. During the class, I felt light...full of light!!! It was a beautiful experience....it seems like things are opening up for me...IT opened my heart!"

"This mandala healing circle has helped me connect with the Universe and myself. I feel light, thankful for every moment of every day. I have experienced amazing changes in my family circle. I even managed to let go of emotions that I didn't know I was holding back."

"Creating mandalas was very healing. I felt love, happiness and joy. I felt holy vibrations when we chanted."

"Thank you for this wonderful experience! It helped me overcome and let go of my fears. It made me feel whole again! Life is too short to hold on to hard feelings that hinder recovery and prevent me from living a full life. Working in a group helped too. Each mandala created a different (healing) experience."

"Creating mandalas has brought me peace, tranquility and a feeling of "freedom" - from pain, sadness and discontent. I have let go of negative feeling and replaced them with positive, peaceful and hopeful thoughts for the future."

"Mandalas calm my mind and body. I have discovered how connected we are, and have experienced that we are fields of energy. I also discovered the artist within, and experienced the healing power of art."

For me, as the facilitator, it has been a great joy to see the soul's beauty and light shine through the mandalas that were created during this workshop sessions. I am blessed to have this opportunity. Thank you all for this moment!
